Jan. 2S-AVWlieat sagged again today when It be came apparent that weather con ditions were ideal .throughout most of the soft winter wheat belt j Selling pressure was not heavy, ut there always was enough wheat for sale to offset any en thusiasm for . the ' buying side. Prices had a downward trend most of j the day, except for- a transient rally around noon; which saw prices slightly above Monday's close. ..'.' . ;. ' ! At the close, wheat was' - lower than yesterday's - finish, May 84-84, July 78-. r i Discouraging to the market also was the continued absence of pur chases by milling Interests. "There's too much free wheat floating around for the millers to take any chances," said a trader. "They are buying on a hand to mouth basis because they feel certain that there will be little change in the immediate situa tion." J 19,000 Wool Bales j Leave SF Harbor SAN FRANCISCO. Jan. 28-)-Nlieteen thousand bales of wool -the largest shipment received on! the west coast in many years arrived here today aboard the Swedish freighter Kanangoora from Brisbane, Australia. : It was part of 250,000 bales, which the British government is sending to the United States for storage during the war, and like other cargoes that will follow, it will be taken by rail to various Texas cities for storage. ' It was understood the storage agreement Included an option to buy, if the United States should wish to do so.
