Counties to Get Surplus Receipts Oregon counties will receive $410,981.29 of so-called surplus motor vehicle receipts for 1940, in addition to the $2,000,000 al ready allocated. Secretary of State Earl Snell reported to the legislature here Saturday. This Is the largest amount of surplus motor vehicle revenues ever distributed to the counties. The previous high mark was I234.67M9. The motor vehicle receipts for 1940 aggregated 815,356.441.97. Of this amount $2,900,537.88 was received from motor vehicle reg istrations, $11,201,492.45 from the motor vehicle fuels tax, $1,- 124,120.35 from motor vehicle carriers and $30,291.64 from fines. Most of these receipts go into the state highway fund.
