The city, with PWA assistance, about a year ago completed drill ing of an additional well and in creased capacity of the first well. Cast-iron mains also were laid throughout the city. The city formerly was classed as rate ten, the lowest listed by Ore gon underwriters. The new rats seven listing is retroactive to May 1, 1940, according to information received by a local agent. Steen, Pioneer, Buried LEBANON Jennie Elizabeth Steen, ' born In Dresden, Ohio, 1857; died January 14 at the fam ily home near Lebanon and was buried from the Methodist church, Friday, with interment in the Dodge cemetery. Rev. D. Lester Fields officiated. Mrs. Steen grew up in Ohio and Iowa ' and taught in rural schools there until her mar riage In 1880 to Claude ' Steen. She had vivid memories of life in a border state during civil war times and upon their mar riage she and Mr. Steen bought unbroken land of the Chicago and Northwestern railroad and lived on it until they came here in 1888, buying the farm home on which she died. Mr. Steen was for more than SO years a member of the Crowfoot grange and for more than 47 years a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Steen died in 1825. Two sons, Frank and John sur vive, and one daughter, Anna Pratt of Lebanon, two grandsons. Louis Pratt in Brogan and Eugene Prstt of Nyssa; six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Frank McCune of La Junta, CoU and Robert McCune of Adrian, Minn.
