The , first meeting of the year for the North I Howell rranfce home economic! j club was held Thursday afternoon at the grange hell with Mrs. Wayne Straehan presiding eed M rs. C EL Waltman . and Mrs. Martha Vlaton hostesses. Coatlnaatlon of the social night ard parties was decided and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Waltman were appointed to act as general w perrlsors for the season with a pedal lonch committee for each occasion. The first one sched uled is for Thursday night, Jan uary If. at the grange hall with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Strachan and Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Beer erring. Women are asked to bring sandwiches. A low fee will be charged for playing. Committees appointed by the chairman to serve during the coming year are quilt. Mrs. M. A. Dunn. Mrs. W. M. Oddie and Mrs. F. B. Kurre; tea towels, Mrs. Thomas Bump and Mrs. W. II. Stevens; aprons. Mrs. C. E. Walt man and Mrs. H. C. Espe. Officers named for the year were rlee-chalrman, Mrs. R. A. Interment win be In the Scto cemetery where his parents and ther relatives are burled. Harry Johnston died Sunday might at :iO at the Deaconess hospital In Salem. He was born In Scotland November 4, 1872. coming to the United States with his parents when he was four years old. . Johnston, who was a killed mechanic, had lived all ot his life in and around Sclo. Schtewe, IS, who was born at Clarke district September 7, 1922 and died early Friday fol lowing a major operation at an Oregon City hospital. She was a graduate ot Molalla union high school in the class of 1110. Surviving her are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schiewe; three brothers, Fred, Gilbert and Wilbert; one sister. Elenora, all at home; her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lindeu of Oregon City. Fire Does Damage To Trimble Home EVENS VALLEY Fire did considerable damage to the Rob ert Trimble home in Evens Val ley Saturday night.
