WILL WED
Dr. J. C. Harrison will read the
old English ceremony at the wed
ding ot Miss Evangeline Millard,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett
B. Millard, and Mr. Gilbert Fish,
on of Mr. and Mrs. George R.
Fish of Springfield, Oregon, this
afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Over 175 guests will witness the
exchange of vows in the Carrier
room cf the First Methodist
church. Before the bridal party en
ters Mrs. Archie Millard of Port
land, aunt of the bride, will sing
-God Gave Me You" and "O Prom
ise Me" and Professor T. S. Ro
bert will be at the organ.
The ceremony will take place
before the fireplace and below
the picture of "'The Lord's Sup
per" will be a Madonna vase of
rubrum lilies, frosted ivy leaves
and white chrysanthemums. On
either side of the fireplace will
be baskets and urns of silvered
laurel leaves, greens and white
chrysanthemums and tall white
tapers In candelabras. Arrange
ments of the same flowers and
leaves will be used about the
rooms.
For her wedding the bride has
chosen a heavy Ivory satin gown
designed with a sweetheart neck
line and leg-o-mutton sleevee
extending into points over the
wrist. The tight-fitting bodice is
embellished with self covered but
tons down the back and insertions
of lace embellish the gown from
the shoulder line to the end of the
long train. The tulle veil falls
from a halo edged in seed pearls
and is caught on either sidetwjth
orange blossoms. The bride will
carry a fan ' shaped bouquet of
gardenias, her-favorite flower.
The honor attendant. Miss Mar
garet Garnaro of Woodburn, will
be gowned in a fall skirted peach
taffeta frock embroidered in blue.'
The bolero Jacket is edged in
pleating. She will .wear gardenias
In her, hair and. carry a. gardenia
muff in the shape of a fan.

and cathedral tapers this after
noon for the marriage of Miss
Jean Gillespie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. G. Gillespie and Mr.
Blaine Vogt, son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. L. Vogt. At three o'clock Rev.
Guy L. Drill will perform the
ceremony.
Miss Hazel Shutt will sing "At
Dawning" and Mr. John Schmidt,
jr., will sing "Because" before
the wedding. Mrs. Schmidt will
play the accompaniments and
wedding marches. Lighting the
altar candles will be Mr. Clifton
Cass and Mr. Roland Wirt.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, will wear a gown
of white brocaded satin fashioned
princess style with a flowing
skirt, long sleeves and a sweet
heart neckline. Her tulle veil will
be caught with a cap and orange
blossoms. She will carry a round
bouquet of red rosebuds and
white bouvardla.
Miss Audrey Jackson is the
maid of honor and her gown is of
green velveteen and the brides
maids are Miss Stella Smith and
Miss Lois Hyames, w will be
gowned in wine velveteen. They
will carry lighted candles with
clusters of deep red carnations
and evergreens.
Mr. Staryl Austin is the best
man and the ushers are Mr. Rex
Wirt and Mr. Stewart Leek.
After the ceremony the couple
will greet their guests in the foyer
of the church. For traveling the
bride has chosen a soldier blue
frock with wine accessories and
corsage of gardenias. The couple
will make their home in Baker
where he is connected with the
Western Union. Both Miss Gilles
pie and her fiance attended Salem
schools and she has been con
nected, with the state accident
commission.
