Guests were seated at small ta bles and a pink and green decora tire scheme was used in the table appointments. Several hours of contract were in play d urine the afternoon. Covers were placed for Mrs. Burton Meyers, Mrs. Henry V. Compton, Mrs. William Busick. Mrs. Herbert Stiff. Mrs. E. M. Pace, Mrs. George Croisan, Mrs. Leo Page, Mrs. Lester Barr, Mrs. W. Wells Baum, Mrs. James Hum phrey, Mrs. Harry Miller, Mrs. William Phillips and Mrs. Frlssell. Party at Rom Home Mrs. Custer E. Ross has bidden a group of SilTerton and Salem matrons to her home on Cross street this morning for an 11 o'clock brunch. Christmas decorations will be used about the rooms and in the table appointments. Contract bridge will be In play for several hours. Townsend have left Salem for Long Beach, Calif., where they will spend the winter months. . Mrs. Kenneth Potts entertained her club at dinner and bridge last night with Mrs. Leon Perry bid den as a special guest. JEFFERSON At a wedding Saturday at 8:30 o'clock. Miss Lois H. Miller, daughter of C. H. Miller of Jefferson, became the bride of Mr. Harold Boies, of Cor vallis, son of Mrs. Bessie Boies, of Portland, at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Marven Coon, near Corvallis. They are brother-in-law and sister of the groom. Rev. H. F. Irvin of Monroe read the single ring service. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charming in a'dtees or soldier Blue Crepe, with a corsage of gardenlss. They were attended by Mrs. Clarise Raiche, of Philomath, sis ter of the groom; and Russell Miller of Corvallis, twin brother of the bride. At the reception following the ceremony. Miss Doris Miller cut in serving were Grace Cunning ham and Goldie Beeman of Al bany, and Beverly Brewster of Corvallis. The bride graduated from the Jefferson high school with the class of 1937, and since has been employed in Albany. They will make their home near Philomath. Present at the wedding were Chester H. ANGEL A wedding of in terest to many local people was solemnized at St. Mary's church here at 8 o'clock Saturday morn ing, November 30, when Miss Imelda Klinger, daughter of Mr. A. A. Klinger. became the bride of Mr. Clarence Hopman, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hopman of Mil waukee, Ore. Rev. Father Alcuin officiated and Miss Helen Keber played the wedding march and accompanied St. Mary's choir and Miss Eustelle Bauman, who sang the solos. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in white satin, made with gathered bodice, long sleeves and long train. She wore a short veil and face veil and a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried white flowers. Miss Olive Klinger, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore an old rose gown with square neckline and full gathered skirt, and a doll hat of gold flowers. Kenneth Hopman. brother of the groom, acted-as best man. Immediately after the services the bridal party had breakfast at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kaiser. At noon a wedding dinner was served to 40 guests at the Mt. Angel hotel. A reception followed at the . home of the bride's father. Mr. and Mrs. Hopman left on a wedding trip and upon their return will reside in Portland. The affair will compliment Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kriessel who are visiting in Salem for several months from their home In Bo livia. A large group of Salem folk have been bidden to call and greet Mr. and Mrs. Kriesel from 3 to 7 o'clock. The hosts and honor guests will receive informally in the living room. The Christmas motif will be used in the table decorations. Rebekahs Plan To Visit Salem Rebekah lodge met Mon day night in regular session. Frances Kyle, noble grand, pre sided. Next Sunday at 4 o'clock in IOOF hall the lodge will hold a reception for all couples in Marion county who have been married 50 years or more. Plans are being made for the lodge to visit the lodge at Butteville De cember 11 and take the Friend ship Three Links. The December birthday com mittee will have charge of the Christmas meeting which will be held December 2 3. Chairman is Mrs. Justina Kildee. Next Monday night Mrs. Betty Schawver Orr will be honored with a post-nuptial shower after lodge. In charge of arrangements will be Mrs. Violet Lamkln. The Salem Rebekah lodge will sell Christmas seals at a local store from December 11 to 21. Mrs. Jennie M. Willis will have charge of the sales. Mrs. Theron Hoover of Inde pendence, formerly of Salem, has bidden a group of Salem matrons and their children to her home on Friday afternoon to celebrate the fourth birthday anniversary of her daughter, Joan. Cap and Gown Social Today An event of today on the Wil lamette university campus is the annual Cap and Gown social to be held at Chresto cottage from 10 to 8 p.m. All townspeople, stu dents and faculty members are invited to attend. Luncheon will be served from 11 to 1 o'clock and refreshments the other hours. YWCA girls will assist in the serving. This is a benefit affair for Chresto cottage.
