of the society, presided a the

elected delegates to the annual
Women's Missionary society con
vention which will be held at
Jennings lodge the latter, part
of this month.
An interesting program was

Mogul and Mrs. Gardiner; duet,
Mrs. Vern Osborn and Mr Gardi
ner accompanied by Mrs. Hoising
ton. Mrs. Clarence Curry had
charge ot the lesson study.
A delightful social and tea hour
followed. During the social hour
Mrs. Bay Reddlngton was honor
ed, with a miscellaneous shower.

Picnic Ground Popular
SILVEBTON Silverton's eity
park is expected to hare one of
its capacity crowds Sunday when
a number of smaller groups hare
arranged for picnics there and at
least one large pioneer group.
The Riches clan will hold its an
nual picnic at this time. Members
of the elan are expected from
many places to attend. First mem
bers of the clan came to the Sil
verton country in 1847.

Dies at Gervais
GERVAIS Genevieve Ruscher
died at her home here Wednesday
afternoon following a stroke 'on
Tuesday.- She was i born in Hun-,
gary September i 17, 1855, v and
had lived In Gervais 12 years.
Her ' husband,', George Ruscher,
died 17 years ago. One daugh
ter, Mrs. Anna Strayens of Wood
burn, is the only surviving rela

Recitation of the Rosary was at
the home Thursday and funeral
services were held from Sacred
Heart church in Gervais Friday
morning conducted by Father Mo
Chesney and burial was in Sac
