Supply Eliminated ; German, Czech Hop Areas Curtailed WASHINGTON, Feb. l-F)-Paclfic coast hop growers have benefited from the European war because of virtual elimination of Polish hop areas and curtailment of German and Czechoslovakia shipments, the department of ag riculture informed Representative Hill (D, Wash.). "The United Kingdom." the de partment said, "is by far the big gest market for Pacific coast hop exports and during the last sea son took 2,400,000 pounds out of the total exports." The de partment said, however, that British war decrees prohibited Importation of hops without spe cial license and the granting of such licenses until "further notice." Germany and Russia have tak en over most of the Polish hop fields, the department reported, and reorganizing of the Industry in Germany proper, Sudetenland i nd Bohemia should decrease hop-growing areas. Ferguson were held at the Fortmiller chapel Tuesday aft ernoon and the body is being sent to Mrs. Thompson's former home in Grand Junction, Iowa, where final rites will be held and bur ial made. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Vandeventer of Albany are ac companying the body east. Mrs. Thompson was born In Moscow, Wis., May 16, 1855. From Wisconsin she went to Iowa 8where on December 25, 1877, she was married to Alex ander C. Thompson at Grand Junction. Mr. Thompson died on January 29, 1932, and for Jhe past seven years Mrs. Thompson had made her home in Albany. She was a member of the Pres- Phyllis and Richard of Eugene.
