for benefit payments on 1939
substandard crop of prunes has
been announced In the California
Fruit News." -'
The agreement provides for
benefit payments for grade A 40
and larger prunes, $16 per ton;
41 to 61s. $13; 2 to 81s, $10.60;
82 to Ills, $8; 112 and smaller,
$5.50. Grade B, concerned -only
with 40 and larger prunes, car-
lied $8 per ton benefit payments.
Growers will receive a first
payment of 75 per cent and whan
the pool has been finally Haul-
dated I the ywlll receive the re
maining 25 per . cent and the net
proceeds from sales for diversion
of the sub-standard dried prunes
into non-competitive channels.
