snapped a sesamoid bone in the
right foreleg two weeks ago while
leading the field in the Gallant
Fox handicap at Jamaica.
Dr Wehner, with a lucrative
practice; and "a mighty lore for
horseflesh" telegraphed Howard
of his belief that he could put
Sorteado "on his four legs again.
"I haven't seen the diagnoses.
the dentist commented, "bat I'm
confident he could be saved, at
least for stud. And Id like to
try."
He's even willing to provide a
specially-designed van . for the
horse during 'the attempt to San
Francisco.
Dr. wehner developed his
treatment several years ago on hia
farm at Verona, Ky., and tried it
first on Prince Pine, a Dormer
stake runner that fell on the old
Coney Island track here five years
ago.
