The 165-pound halfback was the spark plug behind all of Wash ington State's three touchdown drives. In the first quarter, after WSC took the ball from a Gonzaga punt after the kickoff, Emerson passed from the Gonzaga 40-yard line to Right Halfback Earl Ross on the IS. Ross lateralled to Don Greeley, quarterback, who went over for the first touchdown of the game less than eight minutes after the opening whistle.
