Pattern
Here's, a practical and becom
ing shirtwaister to - wear : from
sun-up to sun-down. It's easy- as
can be to stitch from Anne Ad
ams' Pattern 4089. That button
ing that goes all down the front
not only lets you dress speedily,
but makes for easy, flat handling
while sewing,-too. Darts or, tucks
below the all-around yoke release
splendid roominess. For an at
tractive effect, you Inight scallop
the edges of 'the pockets, the
sleeves, and the becoming collar,
(which looks, radiantly fresh in
white!. Notice7 tha nice, slim
lines of the panelled skirt. Doesn't
this attractive style suggest one
of the popular checked cottons or
washable spun rayons?
Pattern 4809 is available in
misses' and women's sixes II, 18,
20, 34, 38, 38, 40, 42. 44 and 44.

Publicity Good
For Humble
Frankfurter
Publicity often fails to do a
human good, but all this no
toriety, gained : for the humble
hot dog, who crashed into royal
society during the Tlalt of the
king and queen, only served to
add prestige to a popular Ameri
can favorite ', .
Frankfurters (hot dogs to you)
are putting on party airs these
days, bnt as yet, they remain
their own sweet selres. A gen
erous slice of American cheese
added to the frankfurter takes
none of the ruggedness away
from this favorite. -
Just the correct amount of
good flavor is added to" make
the meat even more popular.
There's no trick to preparing
the super-frankfurter. Simply
make a lengthwise slit In one
of the more plump ones, place
a generous wedge of American
cheese in the slit, wrap with a
piece of bacon and skewer with
a toothpick. Broil slowly until
juices are bubbling and bacon is
brown. Serve hot in picnic rolls
with salad and. iced coffee or tea.
