drill team which won high honors
at the state convention recently.
The team earned a score of -99.75
and with 15 others competing was
given grand award for best exhi
bition drill. Mrs, Elvin Pruitt was
awarded first , prize as best team
captain.
Mr. Gerald Mason of Portland
was toastmaster and presented
Mr. Warren Jones, president of
Willamette aerie FOE. Others who

At Findley Home
Dr. and Mrs. M. C. Findley have
as their guests for several weeks,
Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Brydon (Edith
Findley) and young son, Ian, of
Berkley, Calif.
The Misses Muriel and Jo
Anne Aliver of Yakima, Wash.,
have returned to their homes fol
lowing a two-weeks' stay with
their grandparents, Dr. and Mrs.
, Findley. During their visit here,
Mrs. Findley, her granddaughters,
Mrs. Roy Lockenour and her chil
dren, enjoyed a sojourn at Twin
Rocks.
. Miss Elizabeth Carey, children's
librarian at the Salem public li
brary, announced that this is the
last week to enroll in the chil
dren's reading clubs. The Beavers,
first and second graders, now have
over 100 enrolled. Those reading
all the prescribed books will re
ceive beaver books. The Pioneers,
the older group, has 200 enrolled
and" 3 3 members have already read
all the books necessary.
Mr. William Wharton, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wharton,
is visiting for a fortnight in Con
don on the George H. W h y t e
ranch.

AUMSVILLE A wedding of
interest was that of Miss Dorothy
Potter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
F. W. Potter and Mark Lewis, son
of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lewis, who
were married, m Vancouver jnon-
day morning at the Congrega-
tional church.
The bride wore a blue ensem-
ble with blue accessories, and
with a corsage bouquet of roses,
sweet peas and lily-of-the-valley.
She was glyen in marriage by her
father. Miss Fern Lewis, sister
of the groom, sang "Os Promise
Me" and was accompanied by the
bride's mother. The wedding
party were dinner guests Monday
night at the country home of the
groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. c
E. Lewis: Immediately after the
dinner the bridal couple, left for
points in Washington and Canada.
Upon their return they will reside
at West Stayton. Both are gradu
ates of the Aumsville high school.
