At Special Services Next Sunday
AURORA Christ English Lutheran church is celebrat
ing its 40th anniversary Sunday, June 18. Services of thanks
giving to the Triune God and festivities appropriate to the
occasion are being planned.
Lutheran church work was started in this community
by Rev. Earnest Mack of Oregon City June 4, 1898. The
following year the congregatlonO
was organized with 1 voting
members and on July B articles
of incorporation were filed. The
congregation at the present num
bers 100 baptised and 69 com
municant members.
On January 1, 1937, the con
gregation voted to change its
name from Christ Evangelist Lu-
