speaking engagements in Portland
and Reed college. He Is on his way
to California and can be heard

1 cup brown sugar .
cup melted butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
cup uvaporated .or top milk
1 teaspoon soda ,
4 tablespoons cocoa

' cup chopped salted pecans
Blend sugar and butter. Add
beaten egg and vanilla. Alter
nately add milk and dry In
gredients silted together. Fold
in raisins and nuts. Drop by
spoonfuls on an oiled cookie
sheet. When done frost with a
plain butter Icing and sprinkle
with cocoanuL
Time for baking 10 minutes
at 250 degrees. Makes 20 cookies.
