farmer of. the Sweet Home sec

H. Kimball of the Christian
church of Sweet Home.
Mr. Knapp was born in Illi
nois, July 9. 1857, and on De
cember 22, 1887 was married to
Ann Eliza Robbins who survives.
Other surv'vors are two sons,
two daughters, one sister and
five grandrhildren, all of White
City, Kanras.
His son, Walter J Knapp, ar
rived Wednesday to take charge
of arrangements. 'JLx. Knapp,
who lived alone had cached va
rious sums of money about his
home amour ting to several hun
dred dollars.
Recuperating at Home
ST. LOUIS Mrs. Louie For
cier has returned to her home
from the Salem hospital follow
ing an operation. She was In
the hospi.al more than three
reeks.
A son was born March 8 to
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Maboney of
St. Louis ptrish. This Is their
fourth boy and fifth child.

training of the loganberry vines
and Toungberries, evergreens are
rapidly being trained in this lo

In Talent Contest

guests of the Happy Hour club
were very pleasantly entertained
Wednesday night with contests
between five groups of ladies.

Commits Suicide
BRUSH . CREEK .Whether
grief for his mother, who
died following injury sustain

the cause of the suicide is not
known, bat the L. H. Meyer
household discovered the
young colt which they have
been hand , raising sir.ee his
mother's death, dead at the
end of a rope in its little sta
ble Thursday morning.
The rope by which it was
tied had become completely
twisted i round its nerk. Evi
dently the colt had pulled it
tight in an effort to shake it
off.
Hand raising had proved
successful and the colt was
much, prized by the family.

Mrs. Mason Bishop presided
at the short business meeting.'
Mrs. Dallas was assisted by
