Which will prevail tonight
following 60 minutes of grid
warfare between Mr. Clem Par

Spec Keene's Bearcat brigade;
The mournful wait of. a dis
appointed coyote clan? Or -the

of those furry stalkers of -wounded

the . ' wilds of Iduho , enough

latter 24 consecutive high
' handed slaughterings of North
west conference opponents?
'Cat Ripe for Kill.
In- a crippled, wounded jCondi
tlon It would seem the Bearcat is
ripe for the kill by this pack of
barren denizens tonight. For it
is when the prey is in the poorest
condition to strike tack that the
coyote pack is wont to bare its
fangs. In the' hospital are two
parts of the Bearcat hindquarters
and the forward quarters are in
a mangled condition. ' Left Half
back Gene Stewart and Fullback
Is ell Shaiier are definitely in no
condition to kick back at a coyote
attack, while it is doubtfnl that
Carl Chapman, to hare bolstered
the Cat hindquarters that 'were
weakened by Stewart's . loss, will
be able to go. A kick In the kid

Hunger Whetted.
Their hunger but sharpened
by the mouthful of conference
meat they digested out of a
win orer the Logger last week,
the Coyotes will without doubt
be drooling at the mouth as
they start across the chalk
marked prairie of Sweet land.
With everything to gain and
nothing to lose it Is probable
they'll even throw the caution
er their kind to the winds as
they concentrate on hamstring

would be a deed recognized as

the balance of the conference.
-Should they lose It will be as
most all expect. Yes, that Par
berry pack is possessor of all
. the psychological aids in to
night's stalking.
Bearcat too Strong.
But, I for one can't vision the
mighty Bearcat being gnashed
asunder by the Coyotes. I think
the bully of the conference has
top much reserve power in that
growing frame of his for the
ipack, despite the sped and ver-
.saumy coacned into it by Mr.
! Parberry.' Despite its wounded,
bleeding condition, it is this au

To give you a prediction on
the Viking-drizzly clash at Mc
Minnville, I need but quote last
year's score of 34-0 for the Vi
kings. From .the Viking score
I would take nothing, as the
Haukmen of .38 are offensively
; as good as the Haukmen of 37.
Aot as good defensively, I
would normally have to hand
the McMinnvilles about seven
points. But, the McMinnvilles
so far have been tragicly Im
potent so it's a repetition of
last year, 34-0 .Salem. Other
prognostications for Friday

have shown lots, of power at
different times during the year.
Voodburn has one victory and
one defeat in the VVI league
and Chemawa has lost - two
games and tied Independence,
the only team that defeated
Woodburn this season.
Coach Wilder v III start some

failed to win a game.
The starting lineup will be
Kirsch, center; W. Racette and
Gieswein, guards; Owre and

Injur y-riddled -and sickness

remain heavy favorites to bowl
over a Grizzly grid gang currently
residing In the cellar of the "No

Shifted
Coach Hauk has indicated there
will be three important shifts in
his starting lineup. Bill Thomp
son, husky youth up from Parrish,
will open in the "pivot slot where
the illness of big Jim Leedy has
created a bote. Dave' Traglio,
kickoff thumping expert of the
squad, will be at the right end po
sition that opened up when Jack
Gosser injured an arm during a
scrimmage session of the week. At
the blocking half Job will be Bob
Duke, pugnacious youngster who
shared the spot with Harold Biles
in the Albany fracas last week.
The rest of the lineup will be
much the same as it has been in
early games, with the exception of
Yada getting the call at right
guard over Wadsworth. Jar vis
will be at the other guard, Tom
Williams and Gene Wickbam at
tackles, and Lester Pearmlne at
the left wing.
Captain "Boomer" Butch Nel
son will be sided at his fullback
position by Don Waller and Bill
Shinn, with Duke finishing out the
quartet.
The Grizzlies, whom Salem de
feated 34-0 last year, are being
coached this season by Stan R Jor
dan, ex-Oregon wingman. Riofdan
replaced "Red" Bailey, who re
ceived a year's leave of absence
to study at Columbia. .
