measure received the affirmative

Budget for the city for the cal

by ordinance at $2000, the same
as for the present year.

as Monitor, a few miles east of
Silver ton. Folio wine their wed
ding they lived on the old Thomas
land donation claim until 1908

land donation claim a part of
which now holds Thomas school.
His father, the late I. I. Thomas.'
a pioneer of 1847. gave the land
for the school building which was
named in the family's honor. Mrs.
Thomas was born in Illinois but

young girl. She observed her 70th

tine Althouse,' 80, died at her
borne on East Fifth street Wed
nesday afternoon following an
illness extending over a number
of years. Funeral services will be
held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the
FortmiUer Funeral home. Miss
Althouse was born in Albany,
April 8, 1858, a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Althouse, Ore
gon pioneers, and had spent her
entire life in Albany, living in
the house in which she died the
greater part of the time.
Surviving are two sisters. Mrs.
study topic will be "Southwestern
Parka and Gardens."
