10 peaches
2 cups oranges
Skin peaches, grind with
oranges skin and all, measure

peaches in conserve, peaches and
apples may be combined and
peaches and apricots taste good
when mixed in preserves.
PEACH CHUTNEY
Cut cubes of peaches to make
4 quarts, cook with 1 cuo vine
gar until steaming. Add
cup finely diced onion, 1 cup
brown sugar, hi pound seeded
raisins, S tablespoons mustard
seed, 2 ounces cut ginger, 1 tea
spoon salt and paprika. Cook
slowly until done.

I V cup shortening
1 14 cups sugar
! 2 eggs
1 cup sifted flour
j Vt teaspoon baking powder
"' 2 squares chocolate, melted
' V cup finely chopped nut
meats ' .
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream shortening and sugar
together. Add well beaten eggs
half and melted chocolate. Sift flour
with baking powder and add. Mix
well and add nut meats and flav
oring. Spread thinly in butter
pan and bake in slow oven (300
degrees) about 30 minutes. Cut
