how the fellows do eat they
are keeping Pop Crary and Ed
Mason, the cooks, on the go.
Camp classes are proving very
popular, .with leather weaving
leading the list with the most
enrolled; handicraft it next, then
learn-to-gwim class and archery.
Boys in the handicraft classes
are making pup-put boats, boom
erangs, and many other projects,
The leather., gang is : -Tearing
watch bands, whistle chains.
Also ' the iboys are learning to
make beds, roll packs, build fires,
and ; each' unit is . constructing
campfire circles 'In their unit.
This is a ! good project and one
the boys all like. ,

Hop Fiesta Coinmittees Swing Into
- Action for Fifth Annual Event in
Honor of Leading Valley Industry

ence is preparing for the fifth
annual hop fiesta .to be held
August 25, 26. 27 and 28 in Hop
Bowl. ' ' -
Thousands of visitors, towns
people and hop pickers witness
this annual event, which cele
brates the hop harvest, with en
tertainment that will include par
ades, dances, programs, rodeo,
wrestling; carnival, sports mid
get auto racing pageant and the
coronation ceremonies.
The city will be dressed un in
holiday regalia the fiesta spirit
will blaze forth, and on Thurs
day night, August 25, the fifth
queen will be crowned to rule'
over the four-day celebration.
Clarence Charboneau, president
of the Hop Bowl, announces there
are 16 girls vleing for Hop queen
honors, and a choice of a trip to
Alaska, or the World's fair in
San Francisco.
