Wachtman said that the great

has brought business from horse
land carriage days to the stream

' MRS. A- COENENBERGj
the local public by a Special Van
Tage Representative,, direct from
the Van-Tage Laboratories. Mrs.
Coenenberg has lived in Salem
for- the last 20 years and is a
prominent member of the Amer
ican Lutheran Church. Read
her sincere testimonial; which
follows: j
Couldn't Raise Her Arms
Above Her Shoulders!
"For the last 7 years I had
suffered almost constantly with
my sour, gassy stomach and ter
rible rheumatic pains," said Mrs.
Coenenberg. "It seemed like
everything I ate soured and fer
mented In my stomach and filled
me full of awful gas. Then I'd
be la such misery with the gas
pressure and bloating that I'd
get down sick. My bowels were
always constipated, too, in fact,
1 had to take a strong physic al
most every day in order . to get
any relief from my constipation.
Ify system seemed to be contam
inated with the poisonous wastes
in my sluggish organs. Besides
this, I suffered with the most ex
cruciating rheumatic pains j ail
over my body, but, which were
most severe In my a r m s and
shoulders and In the back of my
neck. The muscles in the upper
part of my body would get; so
stiff and sore that I could not
raise my arms above my shoul-
"ders, and if I did try to move
them, It felt like the muscles
. were being torn- right out of me.
My fingers and hands would
well up and get numb and the
-pain was intense when I tried to
use them for the work I had
to do. -
"Several weeks ago I started
taking Van-Tage and it gave me
auch wonderful, quick relief that
- I don't believe there Is happier
person In Salem than I am now.
It relieved the sourness and
helped to clear se much gaa from
my stomach that my gas pains
and bloating have been relief ed
and my food digests now like it
should. It a 1 s o helped cleanse
my sluggish bowels and they are
Acting more' normally than they
- have in a long time. Since so
much waste matter has been1
cleansed from me," even the
onlxing rheumatic pains and the
awful stiffness and soreness In
the back of my neck and across
my shoulders has been relieved
and the muscles la my hands and
arms hay limbered up so much
that I can raise my. arms above
K my head, and nse v them , freely.
Van-Tage 'was really a God-Send
to me and I am glad to recom
mend it to others who suffer like
I did."

Women are familiar with
brands advertised in newspapers,
magazines and billboards and un
derstand these advertisements , to
be the manufacturer's pledge of
uniform quality. Having these
products in the store and on dis
play is the mark of an enterpris
ing merchant who ties his bus
iness in with the millions of dol
lars expended nationally to help
him sell the brand for which a
demand has been created.
"Business is on the upgrade ev
erywhere because of consumer
confidence," Wachtman contin-used-.
: "More persons are being em
ployed as faster movement of
goods requires additional man
power for distribution."
"This trend is gathering im
petus, with present-da"y merchan
dising and feature -sales being a
true indication of a whole heart
ed, effort on the part of manufac
turers and distributors of goods
to join in encouraging bona fide
spending."
