Calories Required
Are Determined
In a recent booklet put out
by the Fleishmann Yeast com
pany, there appears an item of
special interest to those who
wish to reduce and those who
hope to retain -the same weight.
This tells how to determine the
calories needed to sain, lose or
remain the same,
f First determine your ideal
weight from an authoritative
chart, 'multiply this figure by 15
If you are moderately-actire, by
20 if you are Tery actire. The
resulting figure Is the approxi
mate number of calories required
daily for your ideal weight. To
lose about of a pound a week
the booklet says to cut 400 to
500 calories a day, this Is the reducing-
quota.
I For example a moderately ac
tive woman whose weight should
be 130 pounds but with an ac
tual weight of 150 should mul
tiply the 130 pounds by 15 and
get 1950 calories.- But to reduce
she requires between 400 and .
500 less, so about 1500 . which
should reduce her to the proper
weight.
: It is suggested that servings be
reduced but no one Item om!t-a
ted. . Strenuous reducing Is al
ways a matter for which you
should see your doctor, as often
health is seriously affected by
unwise dieting.
