the Portland produce exchange
yesterday, according to Associa
ted Press quotations.
The exchange set a cent lower
price on butter extras at 35 cents
while standards and prime firsts
were down a cent to 3 4 i cents.
Firsts were unchanged.
Butterfat was quoted down 1
1 cents at 38-39 cents.
Eggs were off a cent with large

Just before trading was ended,
severe dust storms were reported
in parts of Kansas, with visibility
little better than zero. Indica
tions of considerably colder wea
ther tended further to suggest
serious harm to crops, owing in

change from unseasonable high
temperatures of late.

above yesterday's finish. May

Corn and oats were responsive
to wheat strength and to wet wea

continued adjustment of values
threaded its way through the
stock market today with prices
for the most pan Irregularly low
er by a minor margin.
The -volume of trading at 2,
.023,055 shares was slightly under;
the previous day. and the number
of issues traded also was restrict
ed. During the final hour, after
the mold of the market had been
formed, buying and selling slowed
to. a walk.
The steels were mostly lower,
both U. 8. Steel and Bethlehem
being off fractions to over a point,
buf Midland Steel products was
traded" actively at a 4-point ad
vance on the day.
The Associated Press average
of 60 tttocks declined .4 of a point
to 60.5. reflecting a slowing down
after three days of great reductions.
Dental Clinic Is
Slated Today at
St. Mary School
MT. ANGEL. Feb. 26. Word
waa received today from Mrs. Ir
ma S. LeRiche. county nurse, that
arrangements have been made for
a dental clinic to be held at St.
Mary's public school Thursday.
All the children of the school may
have their teeth examined with
out any charge. F. A. Reiling and
R. O. Appleby, local dentists, will
conduct the examinations with
Mrs. LeRiche in attendance.
March 10 has been set for a
general health clinic for members
of the local 4-H clubs. This will
be conducted by Dr. Vernon A.
Douglas, county health officer.
