Jason Lee Meeting Has
Large Attendance
Forty-two women attended the
joint meeting of the W. H. M. S
and, the W. F. M. S. Wednesday
at the Jason Lee church.'
Luncheon was seryed at 12:30
o'clock followed by a business
session and program. Mrs. Fran
cis DeHarpport played sereral pi
ano numbers and Mrs. Gladys
Thomas sang. Mrs. Park led the
devotions.
Mrs. Necia Buck was in charge
of the lesson. An interesting ar

Lundeens Return From
California Trip
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Lundeen re
turned recently from a fortnight's
visit to southern California and
old Mexico.
While in San Diego, they were
guests for Christmas dinner
aboard the U. S. S. Dahlgren. Mrs
Lundeen's son, Harlan James Per
kins, is a chief petty officer on
the Dahlgren.

once during the year. From Fri
day to Monday Mrs. Stacey will
visit with friends in Vancouver,

Stayton. Rev. Father Moltz of
Shaw spoke before an open meet
tng of the Lady Foresters at their
Ball Tuesday night on the 20
years he spent as a missionary in
India. He was in charge of one
of the northern provinces, 600
miles long, where were two mil
lion Mohammedans and one mil
lion Hindus. Forty dialects were
spoken by the natives.

installation Saturday afternoon at
1 o'clock, instead of in the eve

ZENA, Jan. 10. Twin babies,
a boy and a girl were born to Mr
and Mrs. Floyd Gray, Monday, at
the home of his. parents, Mr. and
Mrs. C. Gray of Bethel. The girl
weighed seven pounds and has
been named Frances Darlene; the
boy six and a half pounds, has
been named Frances Dale. They
have a sister and three brothers
Joe Shepard, youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Shepard
who had an appendix operation at
the Deaconess hospital a week
ago, is convalescing satisfactorily
at last reports.
The belfrey of the Zena school
house is being enclosed to keep
out the rain. The furnace pipes
in the basement have been re-
rolled and soldered. Frank But
ler is doing the work.

night on a month's trip east by
train. She will visit two daugh

with her son, Louis Koon, and
other relatives in Whittler and
Los Angeles, Calif. She will also
spend some time with another

The Mill City Woman's club

Fox Breeders Meet
The Salem unit of the Oregon
Fox Breeders' association held its
regular monthly meeting Wednes
day night at the R. D. Gibson
home. Thirty-five members, from
as far as Philomath, attended.
Matters pertinent to the Indus
try received attention during the
meeting. Sam McCorkle ot Kirk-
land, Wash., representing a fox
feed organization, was a -guest.
The evening ended in social in
formality and refreshments were
served by the hosts.

ed visit at the Edward Dencer
home. He Is a cousin of Mrs.
Dencer. He has visited friends
and relatives in Florida, Texas
and California since leaving Ken
