Placide Casey, who died suddenly

In Portland, wa buried from the
convent chapel here Wednesday
morning at 9:30. Rev. John Cnm

- Sister Plaeide, nee Mary Jane
Casey, was the daughter ot an old
pioneer family and was born near
Woodburn Jane 25. 1863. She en
tered the Benedictine convent in'
1883, observing her golden Jubi
lee two years ago. For -many years
he held the position of secretary
at the convent and taught here
and tn various Benedictine schools
In Oregon and at the mission
school in British Columbia. .
- Surviving are a brother. John
Casey, of Billings. Mont., and
