Ohling was born in Freeport, IH-, in 1861 and came to Oregon in 1869. The couple met and were mar ried in Albany September 14, 1885. Thev lived ther continu ously with the exception of a five years' residence in Eugene until 1922 when they moved to Salem. Mr. Ohling was a hardware mer chant in Albany. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ohling, two of them pas sing away in early; childhood. Those home for the reception and celebration yesterday were Mer rill D. of Salem, Charles P. of Portland, and Elma (Mrs. H. F. Schilling) of Los Angeles. Mrs. Ohling is a member of the Eastern Star and both have been life-long members of the Metho dist church. Mr. Ohling has been exceptionally active la the Masonic lodge.
