The power line is being extended from the main line on th highway, to the Bodeker and Clipfell farms about a mile east of Lyons and across the railroad south of the highway. Tho Etzel and Van Handle saw mill is running full capacity. The logs are being trucked from the Thurston Thomas place east of Jordan. Quite a crew of men have employment at the mill. Mt. Angel to Stage July 4 Celebration MT. ANGEL, May 30. Mt. An gel is preparing to entertain sev eral thousand people on the Fourth of July, for a regular cele bration with all the trimmings is being prepared. The Business Men's club is backing the affair and Dr. A. F. E. Schierbaum is in charge of the program. This will be Mt. Angel's first Fourth of July celebration in a good many years, and as none of the nearby towns are celebrating the day, should be a big success. Woodburn has been so kind as to postpone tneir proposed celebra tion in order to give Mt. Angel better chance. A baseball game between Woodburn and Mt. Angel will be one of the important fea tures of the day. There will also be a variety of other sports, in eluding a tug o' war between the Mt. Angl and Monitor heavy weights. A real rodeo will be part of the afternoon program. The parade will start at 10 m. sharp. Tne osnd ooys m their new uniforms will hare a conspicuous part In the parade. The Legion ball team and fire men will also appear in uniform. Several hundred school children are being drilled to sing the na tional anthem.
