-Market for butter continued to
show a premium occasionally on
the open market while the ex
change continued its recently low
ered prices on at least two grades.
There was just enough batter of
fered on the exchange to keep the
official price down in Portland.
There was no change in the egg
market sltustion locally for, the
day. On the exchange recently
forced higher values were contin
ued while on the open market pri
ces have In instances been on a
better basis than on the exchange.
General steadiness was suggest
ed for live chickens. The late de
cline in white hens and broilers
was In line with other 'markets
which were getting a liberal array
of packing orders and therefor
wanted to cut their costs. Heavy
hens were steady, also colored
broilers.
Trifle easier situation was re
flected for country killed calves,
a few were carried over with late
sales 12-12 c for tops. Heavy as
well as thin calves were finding
a good call.
A fairly steady tone was sug
gested for country killed lambs at
a lower price. Some carryovers
continued. Sales of springers were
ll-12c, yearlings, 8-10c and ewea
4-5c lb. Beet holds tirm.
Green cow hides were up ic
lb. at 4 c with kips 7c and
calves 9 c lb.

Hopewell Cemetery

of the Hopewell cemetery, is mak
ing, an appeal to the public for
the annual spring clean-up before
Decoration day.- All people inter
