Al though the locals hold a victory over' the Spartans competition is expected to be close throughout. Coach Ed Adams has several promising men on his Corvallis quad including BUI Blackledge, hefty shotputter, who tosses the iron ball around 45 feet, and Dave Laford, speedster. The meet will be the final ev ent in interscholastlc competition for several Red and Black run ners. These are Clyde Randall, Bob Brown, Harold Forrest, Jim Fowler, Bill White, Charles Cole man and Harvey Quistad. The local team defeated Stayton 68 1-3 to 38 2-3 Tuesday after noon. The Stayton team had previously beaten Albany and Oregon City and provided some strong competition, especially in the distance events.
