A Message
TO understand and fully appreciate the Easter message of
joy, we ought to walk with those early visitors to the
tomb of Jesus, and to see what they saw, and to hear
what they heard from the lips of the holy angels: who speak'
in glad triumph: "Be not amazed: Ye Seek Jesus of Nazareth,
which hath been crucified: He is risen; He is not here. Behold
the place where they laid Him." m
The audacious attempt of evil to destroy the Son of God
by death on a cross, seems unbelievable. . . . This portrays the
hour of darkness and the power of evil.
But this terrible fact was made to conform to the pur
pose of God, as it was written:. "For the transgression of my
people was he stricken, and it pleased God to bruise him and
to make his soul an offering for sin."
.... We need again to hear that Jesus lives and is able to
Impart spiritual life to all who would follow Him. Go out on
this glad Easter morning and proclaim to a hopeless world
that Christ is its only hope. He is still the great physician to
minister to all its ills.
