and Win. L. Tentsch, assistant
county agent leader, representing
the O. S. C. extension service.
Farmers who understand the
1935 contracts are signing up
nearly 100 per cent, according to
report to the extension service
by those assisting , with rieia
meetings. In a series of meetings
in central and southern Oregon
every grower atendlng signed up
again with the exception or one.
Considerable misunderstanding
concerning the new provision
exist' and is keeping many away
from the sign-up meetings, re
ports Indicated. Many believe
that farther reduction below the
number of hog produced for
market in 1934 Is required In
the new contracts, when Just the
ooDosite la true. The 1935 con
tracts really call for "controlled
expansion" as the grower may
produce 15 per cent more of his

counties last year, some growers
could double their nog produc
tion of last year and still stay
within the contract limits and
collect the benefit payment
the rate of S15 per head for the
number represenied by the 10
ser cent reduction.
Other liberal feature this year
include permission to purchase
and raise as many feeder pigs as
desired, removal of limit on to-

tal cron acreage or livestock

contract, permission to grow
anything but corn on the con
