Feb. 15. r Funeral services were held at the Metho dist church Tuesday afternoon for Miss Ann Eliza McKinney, -who died at her home four miles southeast of Turner, February 10, after a long illness. She was born at McKlnney's mill near Marion, Ore., November 9, 1851, was the third ot 11 children born to Wil liam and Matilda McKinney, pio neers of 1847. Miss McKinney graduated from Willamette university in 1S73 and taught for 14 years, giring up the profession to care for eight moth. erless children. She joined the Methodist church when a young woman. Daring her sickness she showed a rare spirit of patience and fortitude. She leaves two brothers and four sisters , Mrs. Martha E. Adams, Portland, J. w. McKinney, Mrs. Frances O. Ball. Mrs. Alice N. Tracy, Mayro M. McKinney of Turner, Mrs. Onie Longsworth, Portland, and other relatives and many friends. Rev. W. C. Kanter of Salem conducted the service. Interment was .In Twin Oak cemetery. Pall bear ers were nephews of the deceas ed, Clark Longsworth ' of Port land.
