Larson la employed.
Orval is a graduate of the Sil
Terton schools and was a promin
ent membv of the Silverton high
' school football squad during his
attendance. For the past six years
- he has been employed at Wenat
chee, where his brother. Jack, is
also employed. Two other broth
ers, Harold and Merl Larson, who
jre employed at" Bishops at Sa
lem, will be unable to attend. Mr.
7 and Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Legard
' and her son will return to Silver--ton
Tuesday. The Larsons will

at Spokane. Rev. Mr. Swinehart

group decided to make a list and
begin visitation. The primary and
junior work was ably presented
by Mrs. J. H. Wortman, superin
tendent of primary work.
MRS. JACK IMPROVES
SILVERTON, Jan. 30. Mrs.
W. S. Jack, who has been serious
ly 111 at her home on North Wa
ter street was reported Monday to
be improving. Mrs. Jack is a
member of a pioneer Silverton
family and the Jack home is
noted for its lovely garden dis
play throughout the year.
The Federated Community, dub

the West Stayton - club Friday
night at the Bchpolhonse there. Dr.
Carl Gregg Doney, president of
Willamette university, will be the

Lat Half of Year's
School Work Started
'' DALLAS, Jan. 30. Students at
the Dallas schools started the 'sec
ond semester -of the 1933-4
school .year Monday with short
classes and 'a half day holiday.
Last -week was spent: in taking
final examinations at the schools.
The high school students attended
during the week to take tne ex
aminations required. A short as
sembly was held at the high school
Monday morning where the super
intendent and the principal gave
short talks. Following the assem
bly, the students attended short
classes for the seven periods of
school, during which time the
teachers outlined the work to be
taken up during, the next semes
ter. Regular school started ajnin
