The golfing situation has been somewhat mixed for past week. The Salem Golf club course has been, in general, in excellent condition and the weather good; but the river rose up and expand ed the lake on the fourth, fifth and tenth fairways, leaving the bridges intact but floating out in the middle, so that there was no way to get around and play these holes without swimming or walk ing approximately a mile.. Now, however, the lake has receded so that the bridges reach from bank to bank, and it will be possible to ! complete the "eighth and next-to- Ihe last round of games in the Industrial league schedule today Teams participating are: State Office, Industrial, Pack ers, Statesman, Gasoline, Engin eers, Bankers, Printers. Next week all of the teams will play to wind up the schedule of 120 matches in which all teams will have met once. Ten teams ont of the 16 now stand above .500 per cent and all of them have a mathematical chance to win.
