The Bank of Amity which closed its doors last prins, will resume business Mon day morning January 15, on a 100 per eent guaranteed deposit basis. This bank has been under th auperTiaion of H. W. Torbert -and he reports that the bank- Is stronger today than at any time during its history. The deposits or the Amity, bank fall under the federal government bank insur ance. The Sisterhood of the Christian church met at the church Thurs day in an all day session. The officers for the coming year were elected. " Boy Form Co-Op. The Amity Future Farmers of America have organized a coop erative buying and selling organ ization called the Amity F. F. A. Cooperative association. With such an association all of the local members of the chapter can come under It and do business through it. Several thousand baby chicks will be bought in a few weeks, also eggs, feed, and seed, all of which will come under the new cooperative. Much interest is being shown among the students and it will be only a short time until all the by laws and legal procedure will be completed. The board of direct ors is Harold Shields, president of the local F. F. A.; Erwin Doug las, Lester Versteeg. Floyd Kon- zelman, Dale McKinney. Laurence Rasaka, and Irwin Taiiman. Turkey Mart Up A few cars of turkeys from this district and also from Mc- Minnville, have been shipped from McMinnville this past week. The market seems strong with hen tur keys selling at 1" cents and torn birds at 17 cents per pound. Most turkeys shipped at this time of the year go into cold storage and are sold daring the year. - T TO 6EI ATTENT10H Oregon will be represented at the national meeting of lumber men to consider phases of the lumbermen's national recovery act code, it wag announced Thursday. Lynn IV Cronemiller,-state for ter, left Friday for Washington, D. C to attend the session Janu ary 22 to 28. The particular part of the code to be considered provides that log gers mtfbt leave tracts of timber logged In a reproductive condi tion. The conference will outline a set-up to carry out this pro - gram. Cronemiller stated he believed consideration would also be given to the matter of the Tillamook timber burn, to provide mills in that district with its share of logs from other sections, as now. being done in alloting all mills a cer tain stnmpage, even to the extent of taking from one to sell another less fortunate in timber supply. Prior to this meeting Crone miller will attend a hearing on the Clark-McNary bill which pro vides federal aid for state and privately owned lands in combat ting forest fires.
