rot and sour skins, most growers
are imaing it necessary to set

rot shows np.

area, it was said here today. A
sudden expansion of demand for
the Oregon product from Dractle-
ally all sections of this country
ana irom scattered oriental mar
kets, resulted in the activity.
The latest Information avail
able in the trade says the United
States has about 9,000 cars of on
ions on hand, of which Oregon
was credited on January 1, with
850 cars, the greatest volume ever
held in this state at this period
of the season. The holdings In
the rest ot the country are con
sidered comparatively small.
The Brooks. Ore., market today
was described as very active, very
firm and higher, with purchases
mainly at $1.10 cental with sacks
furnished by growers.
