The table was centered with a conventional Christmas design guarded by tall red tapers in crystal holders. An informal eve ning was spent following the din ner honr. " '' Covers were laid for the honor guest, Miss Sterling, Mrs. Sheldon Sackett. Mrs. Clifford Brown, Miss Elizabeth Lord, Miss Edith Schryver, Miss Mabel Robertson, Miss Harriett Long, Miss Mary Schults, Miss Alice Brown and hostess, Mrs. Paul Wallace. Miss Sterling is a former res ident of Salem and has many friends In the city. Leslie Can Do's Have Jolly Party The R. E. Pattison home was the scene of a gay Christmas par ty Wednesday night when the Leslie Can Do's were entertained. Gifts -were exchanged and the evening spent in games. Officers for the coming year were named as follows: president, Mrs. B. E. Otjen; vice president, Mrs. X. E. Hoerth; treasurer, Mrs. Charles Vick; and secretary, Mrs. Eva Rasmussen. Rev. Sr., were complimented with an informal tea Thursday afternoon at the Fry home on South High street. Miss Walsh is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Walsh of Eu gene and is a holiday visitor. Mrs. Smith to Honor House Guests Mrs. Homer Smith, Jr., will have as house guests for the weekend her two sisters. Miss Mil dred and Miss Miriam Swafford of Oregon City. Tonight Mrs. Smith will enter tain at dinner. The table will be centered with a silver bowl of fruit guarded by red tapers in silver candlesticks. Drill officiated In the presence of the Immediate families and a few Intimate friends. The bride was loTeljr in a gown of Chinese gold trimmed in brown satin and wore a corsage of Tal isman rosebuds. Miss Katherlne' Hutcheon was her attendant and wore a frock of green silk and corsage of pink rosebuds. Charles Thomas of Portland acted as best man for his brother. A Christmas tree, poinsettlas and other holiday greens were nsed about the rooms. An Informal reception followed the ceremony. For traveling, the bride wore an ensemble of Persian gold tweed with brown accessories. Af ter a wedding trip north the cou ple will be at home In the Fisher apartments. Mrs. Thomas is a graduate of Salem high school and Mr. Thom as attended schools In Portland and Salem.
