community Christmas tree and
program was held in Victory hall
Thursday night. The grade school
furnished most of the program
and as Christmas is a time of
giving everyone brought donations
or food stuffs for the grade
achool hot lunches.

SUBLIMITY, Dec: 21. The
Christmas program given by the
St. Boniface school and District
No. 7 school at the I.O.O.F. hall
Wednesday evening was very good
and drew a large attendance,
Santa Claus gave each school child
a treat and also presented a radio
to Rev. Francis Sherbring, the pas
tor, from the Sodality Girls, Men
Foresters, Holy Name men and
the school children.

present its program Saturday
night. There will be songs by the
school, exercises by the primary

songs by the primary and Junior
children; duet. "The Kingly Stran

in which members from all de
partments of the school will take

7:30 o'clock. It will consist of

America's foremost beauties, who
seeks divorce from Eugene Brew

at Los Angeles. They were married
in 1926 when Corliss was at the

A sheep shed collapsed on the
E. G. Harris place Monday. It

The stork visited Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Conkey, the latter, a former
school teacher here, Sunday at a
Salem hospital. .The child was
named Arlene Ann.

Paper Found
RICKREALL. Dec. 21 A num
ber of copies of old newspapers
have come to light here recently,
but I. W. Goodell holds the rec
ord so far with a copy of "The
Sun," dated New York, N. Y.,
September 3, 1831. It is number
1, and price one cent. The editor
was G. Ely.
it is a small double sheet, each
sheet 9 by 12 inches. While the
niiwr la vellow with age the
print is plain and the ink black.
The paper is in good snape.
Mr. Goodell is a member or me
ninneor DfitiDaev family. His
grandfather, I. I. Dempsey, was
one of Polk county's earliest
judges.
