' 'J. S. Stalker, "A. A. Geer." SPRING VALLEr, Dec. 16. Members of the Spring Valley community club met today and made benches for the club's use. The carpenter work was done by the men at Stratton's shop. The ladies serve a potluck luncheon at the Windsor home at the noon hour. Contests and games were the di version of the afternoon for the ladies i.nder the direction of Miss Irene Windsor. The joint school program and community club meet will be Friday night De cember 22. WACONDA, Dec. 16. An in teresting meeting of the Wacon da community club was held all day Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Robert Cole. Plans were dis cussed for a card party to be given in the near future to raise funds. The program committee for this affair is composed of Mrs. William McGilchrist and Mrs. Pearl Patterson. Other com mittees will be announced at the Christmas party scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, December 20, at the home of the club presi dent, Mrs. Van O. Kelly. Work was completed at Mrs. Cole's on the beautiful quilt to be presentted the Elks for char ity. Special guests for the day in cluded Miss Dorothy Smith of Sa lem. Mrs. .Effie Cole and Mrs. Ward Russell and son, Wayne, all of Kaiser. lng money to secure material for an extension to the schoolhouse was considered. An application for CWA . funds will be made for the labor, f The community club met In j regular session Friday evening and enjovedt one of the best pro grams of the season. A skit "Waiting for the Hickville Train" was well rendered by eight young people. Recitations, musical num bers and a performance by the Smoky Entertainers , of Salem made up the rest of the program. At the business meeting the club endorsed the boys' building club as outlined by the county federa tion. Fred Hammack was chosen as instructor in woodwork and Roy Smith in cement and painting. MILL CITY 0. E.S. WEST SALEM, Dec. 16. The community club will meet in the West Salem community hall Mon day night at 7:30 o'clock when election of officers for the new year will be held.
