Dinner was served to seventeen guests at 7 o'clock. The table was1 beautiful, with a long basket of pink and white flowers In the center, connected with the chandelier above by 2ink and white ribbons. Tall pink tapers in brass candlesticks light ed the rooms. The Rebekahs and Odd Fellows will meet together in honor rf tbe 82nd Anniversary of Odd Fellow ship, Monday evening at their hall. The Rebekahs will meet for a short business session, then the evening will be turned over to the charmen of the program and refreshment committees. AH Rebekahs are most cordially in vited to attend and be present for the meeting at S o'clock. The Three Link club met in the club rooms of the Odd Fellow3 hall, Friday afternoon for their regular business and social time. With a good attendance tbe aft ernoon was spent with conversa tion and refreshments served in the dining room by the hostess, Miss Dora Hill assisted by Miss Lenora Kreisel. Independence. The Garden dab will hold its annual fall flower show in the Woman's cub building Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon, October J and 10. The annual teachers' tea given by the Salem Teacher's association will be given In the Woman's club room on North Cottage, Wednes day afternoon, between the hoars of 4 and 6 o'clock. 1 -it. - h Trio To Defend National Title V-vC: The American Legion Auxiliary trio who will leave Thurs day to go back to Chicago to defend their national champion ship. Philharmonic Group Plans Benefit An elaborate benefit bridge tea is planned for October 11 by the social committee of the Philhar monic Orchestra association, to be held at the Woman's club house. Fifty tables of bridge will be in play and special music will be provided. Mrs. T. A. Livesley Is general chairman, with Mrs. George Allen, Mrs. L. B. Hill, Mrs. J. L. Rand and Mrs. R. W. Craig on the committee for ar rangements. Reservations may be made with any members of the committee. i George Miltonberger, 930 Tam arack, and Fred Wolfe, 1780 Fair grounds Road, returned last Wed nesday from an entensive tour of the United States. They" left Salem June 13 and drove back to Chica go, taking in the World's Fair, the Harmsworth speedboat races on the Detroit river and going on into Canada. They re-entered the United States at Niagara Falls and went to New York, Princeton, N. J., down to Washington, D. C, and back across the continent by way of Denver and Salt Lake City. Miss Mable Alsop, 491 South Church street, will leave today for ! McMinnville where she will regis ter as a freshman at Linfield col lege. Miss Alsop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C .C. Larkin, was grad- ! nated from Salem high school this year and received a Linfield scholarship. Mrs. Mary Washburn of Seat tle and Miss Ella Hendricks of Mc Minnville spent Friday with Mrs. C. P. Bishop. They are old-time friends.
