Flned-r-Paddy Johnson, James Zigler'and Pat Ballard of Salem and an uniden tified man were arrested yester day by city police on charges of being drunk. In municipal court Mike Lane, Salem, paid a 15 fine for being drunk while S. W. August Visitors Lead Non-resident motor vehicle registrations in Oregon thus far this year to talled 62,919 as against 90,760 for the entire year of 1932, state department officials announced. Homer Shelby of Linn county shared the honor with him. The two-4-H club girls to be similarly honored were Mel ba Andrews of Lane county, and Janet Hinkle ot Multnomah coun ty.".:; 1 In recognition of their achieve ment the young people last sight were' entertained at a - dinner at the home ot Dr. and Mrs. R, E. Doerfler, 18,. has been in club work , for nine years. He entered this activity with a ewe lamb but now owns 25 head of Shropshire sheep. He has exhibited at the state fair and Pacific Internation al Livestock exposition each' year that he has been engaged -in club work. Wins Many Honors Young Doerfler placed high in both club and open classes at both the state fair and the Pacific In ternational Livestock exposition, and was a member of the Marion county livestock judging teams three different years. He was the winner of a scholarship to the state college summer school seven of the nine years he has been in club work. ! .. Homer Shelby has been engaged in club activities for seven years. He started in club work In . 1926 with apurebred Poland China pig and now owns 1 0 registered brood sows and one boar. His winnings at this year's fair Included first on Jersey cow, first on senior calf, first on Shropshire ewe lamb, f'rst Shrnnshire ram lamb, first Poland China litter, second junior gilt, first fat barrow, first Valley Packing company special, third hog showmanship and first in Cass Nichols purebred Poland China gilt. Shelby also was selected as the outstanding 4-H club boy in his county and received a free trip to the state iair as an award. Melba Andrews, 14, has been engaged in 4-H club activities for six years. During this time she has carried projects in handiwork, canning, cooking, sewing, home making, room improvement, for estry, marketing, poultry, rabbit and calf. She has earned, above the cost of production, approxi mately $586. Miss Andrews Lis served as leader, assistant leaJcr, president, vice-president and sec retary of various clubs.
