club YOted this week to hold the
last meeting ot the club June 20,
Tuesday night, because the an
nual school meeting to be held
Monday. Mrs. J. R. Brown is

Dean Thompson, who had the
misfortune to feature in a serere
automobile accident recently, is
being cared for at his home now.
He will probably hare to wear a
brace for a year to eaferuard the
back after he is able to sit up. He
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo
Leahr.
Build Tennis Court
Col. C. A. Robertson is having
a public tennis court made for the
use of the young people of King-
wood on his property. The city
grader will grade the court. John
Friesen has donated the pdsts for
the backstops and CoL Robertson
furnishes the property adjacent to
the rock gardens he is having
beautified. Those wishing to use
the court may register their dates
at the Jensen store to avoid con
flicting hours for playing.
Irrespective of the weather con
ditions, the West Salem May day
exercises will be held May 26. If
the day is pleasant it will be held
outside on the campus at 2 o'clock
end if stormy the program will be
given In the community halL It
will be giTen twice, at 10 a. m..

tion Tuesday night struck near
Henry Girod's farm here, putting
out the transformer fuse on one
of the telephone poles, and caus
ing considerable vibration and
shoek.

time the storm struck.
