way commission scheduled to be

has been postponed Indefinitely,
it was announced at the state
highway department yesterday.
It had been proposed to award
contracts aggregating an expend
iture of $115,000 at this meeting.
IncUded In these contracts were
two bridges estimated to cost
$50,000. and oiling operations In
volving an expenditure of . more
than $71,000. One of the pro
posed bridges would span Mill
creek la Polk county, while the
other would spaa the north San

Officials said that a conference
of the highway commissioners

Two Industrial Fatalities
I There were two fatalities due to
Industrial accidents during the
week ending May 11, according to
a report Issued by the state indus
trial accident commission Friday.
The victims included W. J. Bar-
ham. Salem, and Earl Olson, Ar
lington. There were 419 accidents
reported during the week.
