I ' " r V E E Normal Increase, Churning Falls to Come; Eggs Remaining Steady PORTLAND, May 1 (AP) While there has recently been a slight Increase la offerings of bat ter from outside sections ot the Pacltie northwest, local manufac ture haa ahowa a ueer twist. In stead ot the normal very liberal Increase la centrallxer charaiag. there haa recently been a rather fair decrease in the output ot lo cal plants. Weather conditions hare con tinued against the ontpat of milk throughout the Pacific northwest. tnereoy curtailing the butterfat arrivals here and at country ata tlens. In fact the decrease has been ao rapid that some sections report their surplus of milk haa practically disappeared. Butterfat ralues were firmly neia at recent advances. There remains a cenerallr steady tone locally In the market for eggs without price change for tne aay. Demand for storage re mains favorable with the rejected sioca noiaing down local resale ralues. There continued aa easier ton in the market for lire heavy weight hens with practically no luriuer cnange m the price. The normal differential between the weights was again ruling here. Market for asparagus has been considerably strengthened here as a result of the cool weather which has retarded growth not only at t m . w nua-tjoiumDia points but In the entire Pacific northweet. Rest mld-Columbias 2 around SI pyramid. Market for country killed calves continued a trifle slow and weak at late declines with hogs steady, mutton inclined to rule quiet. Spring lambs remain In quite steady call. Rhubarb Is weaker and a trifle lower. Lettuce market was weaker; generally lower. Old and new potatoes and on ions about steady. Slower Mart for Wools Continues BOSTON. May 2. (AP) The wool market Vday was slow er thaa last week. One reason was the lack of supplies on hand here, especially greasy combing wools. Mills continued to make some Inquiries for worsted types of wooL but they were not mak ing a general rush to cover as daring the previous 10 days. Asking prices on available wools were being firmly maintained at or slightly above prices realized on recent sales. Raindrops Bring Big Smiles to Farmers WACONDA, May 2. Farmers here greeted the rain with a smile Most crops and gardens will bene fit greatly. While young chickens and turkeys might suffer, the good will outweigh the harm.
