It has been announced by Mrs, T. L, Kuhns, chairman of the poppy committee of Capital unit of the American Legion aulllary. The unit Is making, extensive prepara tions for the observance of the day end la hoping for the fall cooperation of all other organ izations and individuals. . Memorial poppies, to be worn In honor of the world wart dead, will be made available to every one in the r etty by- volunteer Worker from the-auxiliary nnit, Organization of the workers is going forward rapidly under Mrs. Knhn'i direction and the nnit ex pects to- have Us "poppy girls" In all parts of .the downtown dis trict throughout the day. Flowers for the sale have been ordered from Portland, where they have seen made- by disabled world war veterans. Some will be made by mental patients from Oregon now- hospitalised at American Lake. , " Poppy day is the day for per sonal tribute to the men who lost their lives in the country's serv ice. The poppy Is a patriotic sym bol whleh means honor for the dead and service for the living The customary contribution will be asked tor the American Legion auxiliary poppies. Tillieum Danciner Club Meets Tonight The last regular dance of the season for the Tillieum dancing club will be an event of tonight at Crystal Gardens.
