SALES TAX PLANS WOODBURN, April 21 At the Woodburn chamber of commerce meeting Wednesday night Repre sentative Romeo Gonley of Brooks spoke on the state ssles tax and expressed himself as being in fa vor of the tax, as it would tend to eliminate the personal property tax, thus relieving the farmers from taxes on their livestock ar,d farm machinery. It provides for a two per cent tax on gotods sold to the consumer snd one half of one per cent on goods manufac tured in the state. This does not spply to gasoline as there lo al ready a tax on the sale of gaso line. Robert Bonney, who wss sent to the 4-H club school st Corral IIs last summer by the chamber of commerce, gave a brief outline of his trip snd experiences while mere.
