WE&T SALEM, April 7
Some West Salem gardeners
who are not too bngy, and have
rather shallow soil are follow
ing the ancient Indian custom
and planting a fish In each hill
before planting their seed.
It Is easy to get a large catch
of rather bony fish that are not
very good for eating, but make
a richer seed bed for vegeta
ble. One home owner stated
this week that he could get
about as many fish of this class
as he cared to carry home, and
that his kitchen garden could
profit by the fishing trip.
