From a late Issue of the Star
and Herald of Panama, the fol
lowing notice has been clipped,
telling of a recent concert held
in Balboa, Canal Zone. "It was
like a homecoming to welcome
Mrs. A. P. Boyd and her glor
ious contralto voice of which she
gives so generously. Her musical
numbers were: 'Lonesome Song
of the Plains,' 'Dusk and Dawn,'
and 'Down in the Forest' Her
voice has been a gorgeous and
lovely thing to possess, and she
adds to It the knowledge of what
to do with It."
To old residents of Salem, Mrs.
Boyd will be remembered as the
former Miss Ethel Raymond,
daughter of Mrs. P. H. Raymond,
now residing in South San Fran
cisco, Calif.
Mrs. Frank N. Jordan of Se
attle, Mrs. Otto Johnson and Mrs.
James Linn were special guests
of Mrs. Harry Hawkins Thursday
afternoon when she entertained
