"It was like a homecoming to welcome Mrs. A. P. Boyd and her glor ious contralto voice of which she gives so generously. Her musical numbers were: 'Lonesome Song of the Plains,' 'Dusk and Dawn,' and 'Down in the Forest' Her voice has been a gorgeous and lovely thing to possess, and she adds to It the knowledge of what to do with It." To old residents of Salem, Mrs. Boyd will be remembered as the former Miss Ethel Raymond, daughter of Mrs. P. H. Raymond, now residing in South San Fran cisco, Calif. Mrs. Frank N. Jordan of Se attle, Mrs. Otto Johnson and Mrs. James Linn were special guests of Mrs. Harry Hawkins Thursday afternoon when she entertained for her contract bridge club. Book Review Tea At Wooten Home An attractive social afternoon is being planned by members of Chi Delta chapter of the Delphian association for this afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. V. Wooten. Mrs. J. Vinton Scott will give a book review of "Daughter of the Sumeral". This review will be fol lowed by a tea hour at which time Mrs. Wooten will be assisted In Bervlng by Mrs. Lee Canfield and Mrs. Karl Helnlein. Guests are asked to call at 2:30 o'clock. Monday night the first of the annual series of spring musical recitals presented by the piano de partment of Willamette univer sity will be presented at 8:15 o'clock in Waller hall. At this time a group of students of Miss Frances Vlrglnie Melton will be presented. These recitals will be presented each Monday evening for the next few weeks.
