Folks to Get
Food at Last
MEHAlf A Feb. 22 Saew has
no respect for people's appetites
or at least It seemed that way
to the people living at the mines
at (he end of the Elk-Horn road.
They became so hungry and It
seemed the snow Just kept falling
so they had a big snow plow come
to Manama for provisions.. It took
the crew 12 days to come ose way
with 1 snow as deep as t feet to
plow through. The plough reach
ed here about 7 o clock Monday
night and started back as soon
aa it waa loaded. They expected it
would take several days for the
return trip as snow was falling
fsst when they left the mines and
In the 12 days required to make
the trip no doubt there would
be considerable snow to fight on
the return trip.
A truck attempted to go in
with the provisions but got only
as far as Elk Horn where the
snow waa three feet deep.
